Too Many...

Lord.  So I get a call from the sister of a good friend I went to Catholic grammar school with.  Jack the Crack we call her.  Hysterical story.  Her sister is a hoot too.  So Maria is a teacher at a city school and someone found this kitten on the grounds of the school.  They are searching for any others, its very sad.  But not for this little bugger.  I offered to take kitten as its eyes were glued shut and I knew it was hungry.  She had it in a box for a couple of hours before it was brought to me.  I think its a he.  About four weeks old.

I reached out to the cat community and several offered eye meds but I wanted one of three I was advised to use by a kitten expert, Karla from Keller's Kats.  I already had the formula mixed so he gobbled down the bottle I fed him.  Laura from Habitat for Cats came to the rescue with the eye meds last night.  His eyes look much better today.   I gave him a bath this morning and the water was red which means that fleas were just eating him alive.

My plan is to place this babe with the other four that are being fostered by Kristin's mom this week - they are all about the same age - I will take kittens back this weekend to my house.

I am sickened by all the kittens being born, and people reaching out to me now for help.  My heart aches.  I received this just now.  I will end the post here for the day.  But so glad I was able to get this baby.  Pray the others in the litter either were saved, or their short lives ended without pain and suffering.

Facebook this morning:

A stray cat had kittens on my porch last night and I found them in a cooler bag I keep on my porch on my way off to work this mornng. I called 311 and was told that animal control won't do anything with them because they are stray kittens. She told me to try calling them later to see what to do with them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I left them in the cooler bag on my porch. I didn't want to touch them. I don't even know how many it is in the bag. One was dead this morning on the porch...that's how we found the rest.

  1. Wow! So after all the back and forth - was Gladys able to get them? I am surprised that the mama cat would just abandon them.
