How you can help

1) Financial Donations
I operate out of my own pocket for food, travel, spaying/neutering, and fostering cats.  I gladly accept monetary donations of any size.  It costs me:
Over $250 to feed 90+ cats each week
$60 to spay a cat
$60 to neuter a cat
$$$ to foster a cat

2) Adopt or Foster a cat
My goal is to get as many cats off the street as possible.  Most of these cats have been abandoned or lost by their former owners through various circumstances and don't know how to survive the streets.  So many have the potential to become wonderful pets and deserve loving homes.  Having foster families available allows me to get more cats into homes more quickly!

3) Your time
I go to 14 feeding stations 7 days a week/52 weeks a year.  I could really use someone to take over a feeding station or serve as a substitute once a week or however often you're available to help.  This person MUST be reliable.  A day that no one shows up to feed the cats is a day they don't eat.

4) Food
Canned food is like GOLD for these starving cats.  Dry food is good, too!
Food can be purchased directly from our Amazon wishlist and will be shipped directly to me.
They prefer "grocery store" brands like Friskies, Whiskas, Kit 'n Kaboodle for dry. And I prefer Meow Mix cups for canned because they are easy to open and save my hands (since I'm opening a case-plus per day.)

5) Sponsor a Spay
Each week during appropriate weather I work to trap two cats each Tuesday morning. They are then taken to the clinic and "fixed" so that they won't be making any more babies. The cost for each cat is $60 (so, $120 per week.) You can contact Rochester Community Animal Clinic directly and have any amount added to my account to help offset these costs. Their number is 585-288-0600.

6) Shelters
Shelters can be made from large plastic Rubbermaid-style totes or built from wood, or even made from Styrofoam or insulation.
I always can use large plywood boards and plastic tarps.

  1. Thanks for all you do here!! I wish more people like us were just as active. I still take care of 3 homeless cats in my old neighborhood for 3 years now. I take a bus, as I have no car anymore. The great feeling to know we are doing something so important like keeping animals alive. Who likes to be hungry?? Knowing we are helping these cats not to be hungry is the most blessed feeling, because it is life or death. God bless you all and your most important efforts at sustaining life and nurturing life!!

  5. I wish they could be caught and neutered like some organizations do. But anything you can do to help them is great. I will see what I can do. We have 3 adoptees ourselves. Great cats. Please also, look up the Amur Leopard. They are almost extinct and need help.
    Thanks
    Carol

  7. I gave a donation via paypal. Would be happy to do more. Canned food? Also I have a shed that we've adapted to a little shelter for a kitty that someone dropped off to a neighbor. If you need to relocate a few friendly kitties, I'll take them. I got the one here spayed. Let me know. Joy

  12. Hello. I would like to make a donation to help you care for these cats, when I can. Do you accept personal checks? I do not have a Pay Pal account. Do you have a mailing address? Thank you for all you do for these beautiful little souls.
