Being Broken

What a busy weekend.  I delivered a lot of cats!

BUDDY
Buddy was the first.  He went to a wonderful man who is first time fostering.  Buddy was as chill as chill can be.  What a wonderful companion this cat is going to make.  He didn't even flinch, much, when introduced to foster dad's 3 yr old Dalmation rescue dog.  He spent his first day in the basement in a warm and cozy spot, but here he finally came up to join the clan yesterday, and as you can see, has warmed up nicely.  He has an extremely loud purr, and drools when being petted.  He is one happy, and lucky boy!  Buddy would love a forever home!

Next was Jessie, who was a bit shy, but my update from his new dad yesterday was a video of Jessie playing with his new sister Lulu, and having a ball.  I am so happy for Jessie!

Next was the two darlings that were bottle fed by me and foster Sue since their birth, Snuggles and Squirt!   It was hard to let these two go especially, but they are joining an awesome family, with two new siblings, both bunnies!  :)  I hope to get updates soon from them, but so far, they are enjoying their new life!

That was it for Saturday, but for Sunday, I delivered the two twins, Olive and Woody!  They went to another great family who is going to love them to pieces.  They were shy at first, but found a very cool toy to play with, and once I figure out how to post videos, I can post them for you to see!

I also went to visit Mara.  What a beautiful kitten she is.  Still a bit shy, but foster mom Melissa is working on her!  She would love a new home!~

MARA
In the meantime, little Pebbles has really started to come out of her shell.  I got the first purrs yesterday.  Here she is in my lap this morning, as we contemplated a new day.  Pebbles would love to be adopted.

I got you, Tail!

She likes to play with her tail!~

Finally for today, I found this old gem someone cut out for me from an old newspaper, I think it was my mother.  I've been suffering from a lot of joint pain this past summer, and some days it takes it toll on me.  Here, for today, is a good affirmation - for any pain or infliction someone might be going through.

"Ernest Hemingway once wrote that “life breaks everyone, and afterward many are stronger at the broken places.”    Life does break us, whether we accept the breaking or not.  Afterward, we can choose to either begin again with our new healed, re-created selves, or simply roll over and give up.

Although there is surely no joy in the brutal experience of being broken, there can be great joy in finding new hope after being broken by life.  For those who survive with the help of luck or sheer willpower or the Lord’s good grace, the world can be a beautiful place once more.  Not the same place, certainly, because we cannot recapture the person we once were.  But a beautiful place nonetheless, because, in the experience of being broken and then healed, we are truly refashioned.

Lord, in this most imperfect of worlds, give us the strength to survive the breaking.  Give us the endurance to get through the difficult times, of whatever they may be.  Shower us with the grace to find renewed hope after divorce, death, failure in our careers, or whatever difficulty has broken our spirits.  Help us to find friendship and companionship to sustain us day to day.  Finally, let those who have recovered from being broken serve as a living sign of hope to those still going through the painful process of being broken that there is life and hope and joy at the other end of the present darkness.

Let them know the wonderful truth that, with you Lord, there is truly life after death."

Have a great day!

With all you are doing, to take the time to write this post each day and make it so meaningful and heartfelt is really a treasure for all of who check in with you each day. Thank you for the gift of your words and experiences. Love you Janine!! -Kristin
