TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jelly

Elvis
Thanks for asking about Jelly and Elvis.  Their foster mom reports:  Elvis and Jelly are doing well - Jelly spends her days hiding in a cupboard in my kitchen but she comes out at night  when things are quiet and the dogs are upstairs.  Elvis has adapted to all the other cats and is very friendly and affectionate.    I’m not that concerned about them getting homes, especially with all the cats you currently have or want to rescue off the street.  If it ever calms down a little for you, then maybe we can put them out there.

Thanks Debbi, for being there when they needed someone to help them.

As far as recent adoptions, I have to say, some adopters are very good about wanting to share updates with me, and some are not as good.  That says nothing negative about the adopter, don't get me wrong.  Its just in rare instances, the relationship has not established itself enough to know my desire for update, especially soon after adoption.  Sometimes, its just an exchange of a couple of emails or phone calls with complete strangers when adoptions happen.  I DO make it known that I would like to be updated for the first few weeks, to see how the cat is adjusting, but I also cannot force this on anyone either.   Take for instance Barney.  I've only heard one update - well, two.  The first was a text, after I had asked after the first day, saying 'we love him!', and the second was "Barney is doing so well. She is still deciding if she is going to change his name. He is so cute and very social and spunky!  He seems very well at home already and he sleeps with me at night ...but only if she isn't home. She has a fuzzy blanket on her bed that is his favorite.   He naps and plays I'm sure when we are not home and seems very well adjusted!"

Again, don't get me wrong, this is a good update!  But when you have 'brought up' and nurtured and watched a kitten grow from 5 wks old to three months, you get attached, and a daily update, at least for a week! is what I would prefer.  But....  and I know some of you are like 'boy, she is something!'.  But its true you become so attached, and you want to know their progress, you want to hear how much they love him, to know they are as loved as you loved them.  uggh.  I know, call me crazy.  Even with adult cats!  Benson and Princess.  I don't get enough updates on them either.  And believe me, their new mom is sweet.  So is her little boy.  And then there is little black kitten Scooter that I rescued and was adopted out.  And Petunia! now named Piper.  WAAAAAAAA!!!!  Its WHINE time!

Benson

Princess
Here are pics of Princess and Benson sent to me recently.  I shouldn't complain.  I should just relax, and rejoice knowing that these sweet animals went from being really sick on the streets, and are now off the streets, healthy, and loved.

I saw a lot of new kitties out there today.  There are SO many uneartipped cats at each of my locations now. I did spot a 5th kitten on Melville that has not been spayed/neutered.  A pretty red with white markings.  Oh so many.  Please spread the word.

Have a lovely day!

"If I regarded my life from the point of view of the pessimist, I should be undone. I should seek in vain for the light that does not visit my eyes and the music that does not ring in my ears. I should beg night and day and never be satisfied. I should sit apart in awful solitude, a prey to fear and despair. But since I consider it a duty to myself and to others to be happy, I escape a misery worse than any physical deprivation."
