Cammy!

My beautiful boy Cammy.  Last week I rescued him for the corner of Fifth and Central Park.  No, not New York City - right here in Rochester.  It took him a while to come to me when I arrived there each morning, through blinding snowstorms in the winters, and searing heat in the summers, but once he did, he couldn't get enough of my touch.  I was finally offered the rare opportunity of a foster home, so I grabbed him, had him neutered, and after spending a few days with me, off he went to the rescue group GRASP and in a foster home with a great gal, Karen.  This is what rescue is all about.  He went from this:

 TO THIS!!!   Now to find him a PERMANENT home!

Cammy

The kitty I rescued yesterday from Baldwin and Grand - I named him Benson - kind of lame, but what are you going to do.  I rack my brain trying to come up with cutesy names, but they don't always surface.  My brain has been malfunctioning these days anyways, so what do you expect?  Anyways, he was/is a sick boy.  His breathing is labored.  The vet said his chest and lungs were clear, it was all in his head.  The poor kid has a head cold!   After a shot of convenia, flea meds, and test for leukemia, he was good to go.  And I was $163 poorer.  My friend Donna offered to care for him, so she came by this morning to get him after she got out of work - she is a nurse who works nights.  I know she will care for him the best she can.  I have never seen such good kitties right after I rescue them.  All he wanted was to be held.  And he won't move unless you kick him off your lap.  Like a sick little baby wants to be held by their mommy.  He will make a great companion for someone.  Please consider him!

BENSON

Mommy cat Nora was picked up yesterday to be fostered by a woman named Susan who adopted a calico I rescued two weeks named Mellie from Melville.  She has also offered to foster the kittens, but they are SO hard to give up.  Three beautiful fluffy tabbies, and a tiny little black one that looks like a bear cub. I've named him Bear, now I must name the other three GIRLS!  (yes, I am getting better at this!) :)

All these babies need homes!

Stripey needs a home!

Dot needs a home!
BEAR - RRRRRWWWW!

CLOE!!!

Don't forget Hermie, Jelly Bean and Elvis!!

I have tomorrow off, so this is short and sweet.  Please remember my wish list from my post a day or two ago.  I can't continue without help.   The need is so much more greater today than yesterday.  I must have financing for the spay/neuter, and food.  This is something the city should be taking care of, but until we can change that, its up to me, and the few others that do what I do.  Every little bit helps.  Thank you!

Because I’m only human,
Its sometimes hard to be
The wise- all knowing creature
That my cats expects of me.

And so I pray for special help
To somehow understand
The subtle implications
Of each proud meowed command.

Oh, let me not forget that chairs
Were put on earth to shred;
And what I like to call a lap
Is actually a bed.

I know it’s really lots to ask
But please, oh please, take pity;
And, though I’m only human,
Make me worthy of my kitty!
