Greg when he was young |
So much happened from Thursday to Sunday that I don't even know where to begin. But what is of utmost on my mind is the loss yesterday of a beloved member of my family. My very special, my very kind cousin Greg lost his baby girl, his youngest daughter, Samantha. Sweet Samantha. She was found in bed, she never woke up. He came in to wake her with donuts. Her sister was asleep next to her. My family is in turmoil. Her mother lost her daughter, my aunt and uncle lost their beloved granddaughter, my cousins lost their precious niece, Sam's sisters lost their beautiful sister and best friend, Sam's brother lost his sister, Sam's two nieces Jayla and Carmella lost their aunt... the world lost a beautiful sweet soul. We've all experienced death in our families, but when its so unexpected... when someone is old, or someone is ill, you at least can mentally prepare yourself, but this is tragic. Sam was only 22 years old. My beautiful little girl. You will be so missed....
In other news, I was able to finally get the poor cat on Central that was gravely ill and injured. A drop trap was set and he went for it. I had tried with a net with no luck. Saturday Sheryl helped, and waited patiently to pull the string, while Mylene, a pillar to the animals she helps in the community, had brought the net for me to use, we waited patiently on the sidelines. Sylvester was brought to the emergency clinic where it was determined his injuries were too severe and he was euthanized. He was sick as far back as the winter. He just wouldn't be trapped with a regular trap. I am so grateful to those that offered help. No more suffering for him.
Nimbus was brought to his new home on Saturday, and Bear on Sunday. I have received reports on both that they are happy and having fun in their new homes.
We still have Happy, Taco, Itsy, Bitsy, Fudgie, Chippie, Ernie (really Ernestine), Chip and Robbie to go. Lets get these babies adopted, so that I can get back to what I do best, rescuing the sweet adult cats on the streets that are waiting...
Tomorrow is TNR Tuesday, wish me luck. There are just so many. I wish I had more help.
Have a great day.
Sincerely sorry for the pain you and your family are going through.
