Feed a Cat for Christmas! TRACY S.!!!

Tracy (and her husband Chris, and son Graham, and cats Dora and Peanut)!  Thank you to my friend and neighbor!  Thank you, for always coming round and bringing me a bag or two from Dora and Peanut, and thank you for helping to Feed a Cat for Christmas, and now beyond Christmas!  Tracy's gift is in honor of her childhood cat Calli.

The temperatures have been brutal this past weekend.  I thank God for the shelters I have scattered here and there for these sweet homeless angels.  I pray they are using them.  The water and wet food I place for them freezes up quickly.  I find frozen wet food at a few locations each day when its this cold out.  They just can't eat it fast enough before freezing.  I try to save some of the hot water I fill the jugs with to retrace my steps and go back to my first stops and replenish the ice with water.  Some of them lap up a whole dish of water after I leave, they are so thirsty.

The good news is that we are going to get a break with the temperatures mid week, so that will be a welcome change for these kitties!

MORE GOOD NEWS!   WHAT A WEEKEND!  Drumroll....  Three adoptions (well... one pending)!!

Last week I got a message from my friend Pattie saying she had someone interested in Dasher, the unneutered boy I rescued from Parsells not too long ago, and who has been in foster care with a wonderful girl named Kim, who also fostered Peppercorn.  Dasher was the kitty that had some behavioral issues, but after a visit to the vet with the wise Dr. Grshey, and following her own instincts, a big change happened with Dasher.  Enough so that the couple that came to meet him yesterday fell in love!  Within two weeks, I will be delivering him to their home, to meet his canine sister too!

Dasher
Another nice couple, Sue and Bill, expressed interest in Bacardi!  So I went and picked up Bacardi from his foster mom, Rachael, who literally cried when I took Bacardi from her arms, but she quickly realized that she will be able to make the difference in another cat’s life very soon but allowing Bacardi to go to a new home.  Fosters are rare, even rarer than adopters.  I thank God for both!  Bacardi was brought to his new home yesterday also!  And speaking of yesterday…

Bacardi now MAX!

Another wonderful family has adopted Happy!  Happy is the little kitten that just a week ago on New Years Eve morning this little baby came running to me crying at 5:30 am. – 20- degrees out.  This family adopted little Squirt from me in 2015, and Harold from me I believe in 2014.  They renamed Happy to Archie.  :)

Happy now ARCHIE!

So as you can see, this has been one great month so far for the cats of Rochester.  At least three of them this week.  J

  4. This is fantastic news! Archie looks so sweet with his new family, who seem to have the same furniture as we do. Haha!

I have so much admiration for people who foster animals. It must have taken a lot of courage and selflessness for Rachael to let Bacardi go to his new home. I hope she's comforted by how happy he seems and that he's adjusting quickly. God bless you, Rachael! Thank you for opening your house and your heart to Bacardi, and to future foster kitties.
